Curtains come in all shapes, sizes and styles.  At Sheer Elegance we give you lots of options so you can create just the impression you want.

Choose from our latest selection of fabrics or simply supply your own.  Either way we are happy to advise on colours, textures, styles and fabric.

Curtains can be made:

· Lined or unlined

· Edged

· With decorative or contrasting fringing

· With matching tie-backs

Below are a few ideas:

The curtains shown here have been complemented with a pelmet made of the same fabric.  The secondary gold colour in the curtains has been used to best effect in the pelmet by edging in a gold bullion fringe.  The main blue colour in the curtain blends well with the decor and contrasts nicely with the wooden flooring.  With these curtains a metal tie-back has been used to give added shape to the curtain.

The lounge is probably the most important room in the house as it is where most people spend the majority of their time.  This window in this lounge has been dressed with swags and tails and the curtains are given some additional shape with tie-backs.  The swags and tails can be made with virtually any number, any length and with most fabrics.

The bedroom here has feature windows which have an arch at the top.  It would be a shame to lose the feature by using ready-made curtains from a store but, by using the expertise of Sheer Elegance, it is possible to design both curtains and blind to fit the shape of the window.  Only one of the three windows in the room is shown here but when all three matching windows are viewed together the result is a truly magnificent effect.  If looking for that unusual shape to your blinds, pelmet or curtains then give us a ring and we'll happily discuss with you the options.

Curtains can have a dual purpose: they can, of course, look good but they can also be very functional and here curtains have been fitted into a hallway to prevent draughts and cold during the winter months.  It is surprising how much warmer a hallway will feel, both due to the visual effect of the curtains and also the insulating effect when they are drawn.  Hallways can often look bare due to the lack of fabric but, as in this instance, a set of curtains behind the door can make the entrance most welcoming for visitors.

This shows a pelmet and curtains suitable for a child's room.  The pelmet can be made to any size and is made ready to hang.  The curtains and pelmet are made of the same fabric to give that coordinated feel.  To finish off the effect, a Roman Blind has been fitted just behind the curtains to give a more elegant touch to the effect.

Once again we have a themed design here.  This room is based around sailing and the curtains here have been made in such a way as to pick up on the room theme.  The curtains are made of a heavy cotton fabric, not unlike sail cloth.  The overall effect is reinforced by using rope looped over the curtain rail to hold the curtains in place.  Finally, hooks in the shape of anchors are used to hold the curtains open during the day.
